steering wheel lock
hello, my steering wheel doesnt lock and hasnt lockes since i got the truck a year ago (well it locked maybe 3 times total on me) just wondering what is wrong and how to fix it.

Behind the steering wheel there is the turn signal switch and a ring around the steering column. The ring has two pins on it, one is sort of copper looking and the other looks like aluminum I think. There is a flat on the steering wheel hub and a flat on the steering column for alignment purposes. You should have the copper pin lined up with a detent point on the steering wheel for the lock to engage. I think I lined the copper pin up with the fourth spline on the steering column when rotating the ring with the pins counterclockwise around the steering column.
