Vacuum Line Problem?
I have a 1979 ford f-150 4wd it got an edelbrock performer 400 intake the motor itself is a 351m. It had a holley 4-barrel when I got the truck I put an edelbrock performer 600cfm 4-barrel on it. The secondarys are not kicking in never have. Since vacuum line isn't that expensive I was thinking of going through a replacing the lines. I was wondering how tough that would actually be. I know I would need to find a diagram. This is the only way I can think of the secondaries not working. If nothing else because 2 carbs didn't work. Please if anybody has any other ideas or a diagram for the vacuum lines let me know. This carb thing is turning into an obsession

I had the same problem in my 77 4x4. I have a 460 in it and replaced the carb. I purchased a Haynes manual and it has vaccum diagrams in it. The manual is about 15 bucks at most auto parts stores. Since my motor no longer has all the emmisions on it, I had to do some figuring, but I got my secondaries to work. Be advised that througout the manual, the vaccum diagrams are scattered throughout the book. For example, it shows the diagram for the distributor advance, then for the carb in another section. All in all it is a good book to follow.
