Thumbs up Swap Meet

For information purpose.

Turlock is having it's annual classic car swap meet next weekend January 29th and 30th.

They have tons of classic car parts as well as after market parts vendors. They also get vendors selling all kinds of dress up parts and supplies. They even have a ton of cars for sale.

If anyone would like directions just give me a post..

I do believe that I did see a both last year doing air suspensions. I also remember people dragging in like small shopping carts and trading parts with some of the guys in boths. Bring your stuff along and if someone is interested they can go out to your vehicle and make a trade. never hurts.

Drive south on 99 until you hit Turlock. Take the Fulkerth road off ramp and turn east (left) under the freeway and stay on Fulkerth until you see the crowd at the fair grounds, probably about 3 or 4 miles from the freeway. They will probably have you turn right into the parking lot so stay in you right lane on Fulkerth.

Also the web site above was for last years.
This years will be held on Jan 29 and 30th.

I don't have the web page for this year.

Good luck and prey for sun shine..

Talking

Sorry, jumped on the first site that a search using the words turlock swap meet turned up - should have looked closer.

Thing is, you really can not miss it. It is worth the trip just to drive through the parking lot - there are more hot rods and classic cars around than you can shake a stick at. It is a big deal, and you will see everything from 40 Fords to 57 Chevs on the highway and on the streets around. Just get close and follow the crowd.

However, this is a link to the official website, and the map there:

http://www.turlockswapmeet.com/area.html

From that website:

The Modesto Area A’s began the Swap Meet in 1965, located in the McHenry Shopping Center in Modesto. The event quickly outgrew the space available and in 1966 moved to the Stanislaus County Fairgrounds in Turlock, and became known nationally as the TURLOCK SWAP MEET. It has become one of the premier events in the hobby of restoring and collecting antique and classic automobiles.

The TURLOCK SWAP MEET always takes place during the last full weekend in January. In 2005, the Swap Meet will take place January 29-30, 2005. The hours of operation are Saturday, 7 AM to 5 PM and Sunday, 7 AM to 3 PM. Admission is $5.00 at the gate, children 12 and under are free when accompanied by an adult.

For your convenience, an ATM is located in front of the Main Kitchen, which is near the Information Booth.

Please click on any of the buttons above to get information on specific areas of interest.

To help make this event run smoothly, the Club enlists the help of community service clubs and youth organizations, including the following:

Big Valley Regional Group
Newman Future Farmers of America
Turlock Historical Society
Turlock Kiwanis Club
Modesto Service Club
Orestimba High School Band Boosters
Oakdale Rotary Club
Riverbank Rotary Club
Turlock Police Explorers
Volunteers In Patrol, Turlock Police Dept.
