Hey, I just found this website. Looks pretty cool. I am 18, and love classic trucks. My grandpa gave me a 52 Mercury M-1 with only 17,564 original miles, that I am currently restoring(just needs paint/interior). My daily driver is a 91 Chevy S-10 Blazer 4x4(restored, mint shape), and a 98 Ford Expedition. My favorite trucks are the Mercurys, Just because you dont see them too often in the states. My Merc runs great, and has the 3spd on-the-colum. My plans for the merc are to make it completely stock, because there are too many modded trucks out there.
I'd love to get my hands on a 48-52 Mercury truck, especially a Panel truck.
I have to commend you on keeping your truck stock. Many people today, especially your age, customize the h*ll out of these trucks. I feel that if the truck was stock, then keep it stock. However, if it was a beater and missing tons of parts, then customize it all you want.
You are right about not many Mercurys existing any more. That should be more of a reason to keep it stock and original.
