Hi everyone i have a 88 ford ranger with delay wipers my problem is when i turn them off insted of parking at the bottom of the windsheild the driver side one goes all the way to the side of the windshield and the passenger side one stops right in the middle of the windshield. Anyone have any ideas what the problem could be? Thank you for reading this.
But it does run a little bit and then park, just not in the correct position? Sounds like you may have some mechanical linkage problems.
Go ahead and try it again. Turn the wipers on and then quickly off, and see if they always park in the same position. If they do, that would be a clue that the motor is parking correctly, there is an arm out of wack or something. I don't know about the rangers, but the f150 can be worked on by un-screwing the grill between the windshield and the back of the hood.
thats exactly what it does so it would be the linkage not being right? would it not be right on the motor? if its not righ ton the motor do i take the linkage off and let it park correctly and put the wipers were they are supposed to be and that should be good? thank you for your input

That sounds like a good plan, but think about it and study it for awhile before you do it. If it will work, great, but you don't want to get them positioned so the wiper takes off down onto the hood or something. I think I would take the arms off first(I think you will have to anyway), mess with the linkage, run it a little bit to make sure it's going to work, and then put the arms back on.
