Factory Tinted windows

How common was this option on a 66 F-100?

Not Very but it came with the plain tinted or the tinted-banded versions of windshields
and when it's OEM they will say. . . . . CarLite Sun-X, etched right on the glass. Tint became much more common when FoMoCo began hanging A/C's in their factory rather than having us dealer gorrillas do it for them.

Ya gotta realize although there were a few "Sporty" trucks around, there were not really a lot of "Sport Trucks" because back in the day, trucks were thought of mostly as work vehicles. Only us "common folk" would ride around in 'em. Remember the terms like "country or cowboy cadillac" ? but look what that started! There were no Cadillac Escalade Pick Ups or Lincoln Navigators. The upper crust wouldn't ride in trucks unless we were towing their passenger car somewhere after it broke, & they had to.
It was devotees like us that transformed trucks. Look what we started! Look where it's going also. . . .

I met a guy the other day that says he has etch templates to etch the Carlite and FoMoCo logos into replacement glass. He does VIN etching here in the DFW area. I haven't seen his work as far as the logos go so I will withhold an opinion. It is a great idea though. What about the Ranchero's? Those were the Pick Ups of the elite when I was growing up. I always thought that the Uni's were an attempt to continue the fullsize "Ranchero" when it went to the Falcon body platform.
