Cool PLEASE HELP!!! line converter

wired up my line converter in my 97 ford explorer as follows....... the lines on the converter are white/white black stripe & grey/grey&black stripe...... wired rear right + (purple /white) to gray.... rear right - (blue) to grey/black..... rear left +
(blue/black) to white.... and rear left - (yellow) to white/black......

i got the wire colors off of www.streetdreams.net

the rear speakers and subs are REALLY distorted.... everything is grounded and wired right to the best of my knowledge....

WHAT HAVE I DONE WRONG???? i dont believe the truck has a factory amp.... but it does have the cd changer in ther console.

the wires on the head unit seem VERY thin.... could it be that theres just not enough power to convert to the line out and power the rear door speakers?

Anytime you hook up an aftermarket head unit the factory amp MUST be bypassed. Do a SEARCH this has been covered many times before.
