351 w 4x4 trans?
Hey Guys, This may be a really dumb question, but I'm going to risk it. I have found a 1980 F250 with the 351, AT, and four wheel drive. My question is, can the tranfer case be removed and the transmission used without it? If so, what transmission is it likely to be, and would this engine/trans combo be a good candidate to swap into my 53? I did not by the Crown Vic I was looking at as a donor because it was total junk. I would appreciate your feedback.

Ok, Lets say I pull the whole engine, transmission, transfer case out of this truck. Can the transfer case be removed and the transmission be used as a two wheel drive transmission without any modification? If the answer is "Yes", would this be a good donor for my 53? , or would I be better of just pulling the engine and shopping for a two wheel drive transmission? Is that clear?
