High Output Alternator info
i think my alternator is gonna crap out some time in the not too distant future. was thinking of gettin a high output alternator to give extra power to future mods i plan to do. what do i need to know about htat. are there some sort of regulators or other mods i need to get to help handle the added ampage? what are some basics i should keep in mind when selecting a high output alternator?
also how difficult is it to un/install an alternator?

The alternator install difficulty level depends on the vehicle. You should do some research and buy an alternator that is made to fit your vehicle, so it will bolt on. The main modifications will be the output wire of the alternator will need to be larger, and if you are going to add a lot of power add-ons, the wiring for them might require an aux fuse box.

Most of them were around 90. The older trucks had anywhere from 60amps up. Go to www.partsamerica.com and plug in your truck. Pretend you are going to buy a stock alternator for it, and they usually will have in the description what size it is.
