hey just thought i would let anyone who doesnt know already, a little secret i found out. i had a 96 eddie bauer f150 with a nice bucket seat. i put buckets into it and had the seat laying around. so one day i decided to try and put it in my '71. i pulled out the old seat and took off just the bottom half of the sliders, bolted them onto the bench from the 96 and it bolted right into the factory location. now i am assuming since this worked with a 96 and a 71 that probably all years are like this, but for sure 67-72 AND 92-96 bench seats are interchangable. it is much more comfortable than that old saggy spring loaded thing that was in there. plus now i have lumbar supports and an armrest. i got a seat cover and it looks great! easy, and definately worth the hour or so i spent doing it.
Just finished doing the same with a 91 seat into a 71. Just had to knock out the bolts from the rails on the 71 and use the bolts from the 91 and drill one hole in each rail to insert the bolts thru the rail into the 91 seat frame from the bottom. What a dif, just love it!
Well I dont know about newer to older, but about a year and a half ago, I was looking for a new seat, and the g.fs dad told me about this guy that was partin out an older chevy and it had a nice seat in it. So I figured Id take a look. Low & Behold the seat had the EXACT same mounting as my current seat and even had ash trays on the back, so I think the guy got it out of an older Ford Pickup Extended cab maybe, OR older Ford Vans use the same mounts as do the 67-72? Not much usefull knowledge there, but maybe some knows the answer.

I appreciate the information. Now I know what to look for when I go to the junk yard to find a seat for my 1970 Ford.
Thanks
what about bronco seats? will the bucket seats bolt to the floorboards of a Fleet (referr to the nickname thread in this forum) without much modification?
