starting problem 93 e-350
I bought this from a friend who had a used motor put in it. When he got it back it started & ran fine but after a couple days no starting it without starting fluid, even hot you can turn it off after a hour drive & immediatly it wont restart without a squirt of starting fluid.
I threw the following parts at it to no avail.
* Set of Plugs
* distr cap & rotor
* air filter
* fuel filter (inline on frame)
* fuel pressure regulator
* pcv valve
I tested the fuel pressure with a newly purchased gauge & the running fuel pressure from the schreder valve is about 48-50 & turned off after a run is about 49-50.
The one big thing I noticed is while pulling plug wires while running one at a time to see if the engine would change, it sure did each time except no change for cyl #2 (2nd closest to the front). I guess its running on 5 cylinders but it dosnt miss that bad to me but im not used to the thing. Is this for sure a dead cylinder or maybe the fuel injector for that one isnt giving jack for fuel? could this be enough to start with only starting fluid? What gets me is after immediate shut down it wont restart. I understand that I should do a compression test on that cylinder but I havnt found my tester yet.
