This is my first post...i have a 95' f150 w/5spd trans. the brakes were put on new.....my mechnic is a good fellow, and i don't want to make him mad..BUT! the brakes just require a "bird touch" and they stand you on your head! WHAT CAN I DO?
another question: why won't the heater get hot? it blows nice warm air....it will freeze you to death driving in weather below 40 degrees!
I'm not sure about your brakes, but it sounds like the calipers might need to be replaced. As for the heater, I would suspect that the thermostat is stuck open. That would not allow the truck to warm up all the way. Its also possible that the heater door is not going all the way to the hot air side. Thats just my thoughts.
Its very possible thatt the calipers are the problem with your brakes. It could also be the master cylinder. If you have a new thermostat then thats about all I can think of for the heater problem.

Just went through this- had brakes, rotors, and calipers replace 5K miles ago, and had to have it done again. We also noticed the brakes were real "touchy" after the last brake job, but not this one.
diagnosis: the "pin" the caliper slides on was dirty, causing it not to release properly. Previous tech also didn't replace the inner release spring-clip on the passenger side. Viola- touchy brakes (and crappy gas mileage). After new pads and those pins cleaned, drives like a new truck again.

just wondering, would a 91 f150 4x4 also have a inner release spring clip? and what does this spring clip do? thanks

the two "slides" that hold the caliper to the hub. Last go-around, they replaced the calipers without cleaning the slides.
