Driveshaft alignment info?
Hey everyone. I recently replaced my 3 u-joints and the carrier bearing on my 93' Ranger, 4x4, supercab. I am now getting a slight vibration at around 45-65 mph. I forgot to mark the position of the two driveshafts before i took it off to do the u-joints and im sure that may be my problem. Does anyone know if i can and where i can get info on the correct position?...and suggestions would be great....or if you have any other ideas on where this vibration could be coming from. There seems to be no abnormal play in the driveshaft. I have had my truck looked over and everything visually appears fine. Thankyou.

I did the same thing with mine. As long as you sight down the drive shaft and all of the u-joints are in alignment, you should be ok. You should be able to see the "rust mark" on the pinion flange where the drive shaft hooks up at the rearend. It is the same on two sides. Line up your u-joints, and flange, if you get a vibration, turn the pinion flange 1/2 turn and test drive for vibration. That is the best you can do. If it is bad enough, I have had some driveline guys tell me that all u-joints are not equal and they recommend balancing after a u-joint change. Good luck.....
