u joint question
i have a 1976 f150 4x4. i want to put cv drive shafts from a bronco or truck in it . what is the ujoint size, i measure it at 3.25" from outside to outside. The reason i ask is because i need the trans case yoke to match the cv joint and where i might find them

I say use the cardan type joint,looks like 2 u-joints in a coupler.Lot cheaper than a C-V type joint.I'v seen alot of these on full size broncs.Take alook in your local salvage yard,get the whole set up if you need to,from the T-Case yoke to the Axle yoke.You just replace the 3 u-joints,save alot of cash.I'm pretty sure the drive shaft u-joints are the same size 70's into the mid 80's.I put the cardan joint out of a 79 bronc on my 85 150, get less vibration than with the straight 2-joint drive shaft.
