Instrument cluster light question
Today I changed my instrument cluster bulbs.(Four #194 bulbs) I have a 97 XL with no tach.The speedometer is in the middle,to the left is the fuel guage and temperature guage,to the right,oil and amp guage.Everything is lit up except for the top half of the speedometer.You can see the numbers but it is not as illuminated as the rest.Did I miss a bulb or is this normal?

You may have missed one, however you probably will find out the same thing i did. I had a #194 bulb go between the tach and the speedometer. When i got the cluster out, i noticed that there is other bulbs in the cluster for backlighting also. I believe there is another thread started recently and mentions that they are led's. They are much smaller than the 194's. The number on them is one i've hardly ever seen, believe 730 or 731, i can't remember exactly. Be sure to check the other thread started recently as it is discussed in it.
