Can people read?

I feel this is no excuse But,
I wonder the same thing although perhaps, it could be that people are just so excited to find a web site like this, they almost pee their pants trying to get info.
In process they make a mistake when posting.:+

Same thing goes with the web store contact page. It states on the contact form THREE times in bold letters:
"WE DO NOT: Provide mechanical repair advice, truck buying information, research information, etc."
Yet I get at least 5 such contacts per day through the store. MotorHaven is a parts counter, not a free mechanic!
In that I made my own share of mistaken posts, and I think that we will never really see a complete end to it - since new people are GOING to make mistakes. That should be kept in mind...
But a one time mistake is easily dealt with, and the post-maker redirected to the proper forum. I do know that people can at times get upset when they see a lot of it, but the key here is to tactfully point out the error, and show them where their message needs to appear.
And I think that this has been managed extremely well here, I have seen no mass-spamming attempts by discontented individuals such as I have witnessed at other sites I have visited on the web.
Some arguments, yes. But we enjoy a webspace where the overwhelming majority of people who use it are mature adults. And it's reflected in almost every bit of the content here.
That's one of the things I like about the place!

PS.Oh yeah if you wish to shorten down the name just use CJ please, its stands for Copenhagen Junky. Had the nickname since I was 11.
Well I like Mil1ion's explaination best!Seems to me though, that the folk's who mispost their first thread have a sense of urgency and don't read everything carefuly. They are often stumped by a repair problem or looking for info on a pending truck purchase. It can be dissapointing when you do a little research and post a reply, only to never hear from them again.
On the other hand, you have the truck enthusiast's who read through all the forums and reply to a few threads even before they post their own first thread.
I try to give both types of poster's the same respect. Every first time offender is not only a potential customer for MotorHaven, but a possible forum contributor and truck enthusiast.
Lately, I've followed Mil1ion's good example of welcoming the 'lost sheep' to the forum
politely explaining why they are posting to the wrong forum and even suggesting the proper forum to post in.
Mil1ion, you could get a consultant's job training WalMart greeters!

One old girlfriend even wrote a poem.
It's also quite funny that this thought of yours was right in line with ABC-TV New York when they asked if I ever move to the US I will always have a JOB with ABC,this after running their transportation dept.and driving celebrities around for them during the 88 winter Olympics.
Roone Arledge was the first to say " Dennis My boy, You're One in a million.
And the name stuck.
I'm blushing now,Thank you.

Well doggone - it seems you have some connections out there in the world!
But in all the posts in this thread I see a common one -
Think twice and try helping.
