Yeah, everybody hates California, then they move to Colorado and complain that it's not enough like California. Maybe if they double the fines here all the transplanted speeding accident-causing SUV's from CA will move away.

I did NOT vote for Davis, and I don't know anyone who did. I can't figure out how he ran up a 31 billion dollar debt after entering office with a surplus in the bank, and then managed to get a second term.

LOL another reason besides soaring realestate prices not to want to move there for the military. I have 8 months until I have to force myself to move there. Well I know I wont get any planned speeding tickets while I am there.

California drivers beware.............

I lived in California about 30 years and then moved to Oregon in 91. I only moved from So Cal due to traffic headaches and a new job.

At the time California had "reasonable" fines for traffic tickets and also had the option of traffic school to wipe out a ticket. That was nice.

When I moved to Oregon, I discovered thru conversation, "what me get a ticket? Never", that Oregon tickets were much higher. Just in my 2 cop speed trap town alone, going 40 + in a 30 zone will get you a $500 ticket, and boy do they love radar here. Traffic fines double in construction zones. I guess the definition of consatruction zone is anything with an orange flag or traffic cone regardless of whether there is construction or not. Passing a school bus with flashing reds, will get you a $600 certificate of appreciation.

I don't know what tickets cost in Calif now but when I did get a ticket for expired license(dummy) in Oregon, it was for $250. Seatbelt fines are also $250 if I recall correctly.

So yes California is the land of fruits and nuts with the rest being flakes, but I surely liked the roads better, except for rush hour and the tickets were more bearable.

Don't know now what it's like in Calif. I do love that many politicians seem to think the solution to their wasteful spending is to raise tickets and fees. Who would ever think to follow a strict budget just like the rest of us poor blokes.

Not that i want everyone moving here (you know, 30 below keeps the riffraff out and all that) but a guy at work just got a well deserved ticket.
94 in a 70mph zone (BTW, all two lane highways in montana are 70mph speed limit during the day, beat that)
that's 24 over
that's really fast.

His ticket cost him all of 70 bucks

I love Montana!!!!

Oh what a feeling! Now if everybody would just obay the traffic laws and not get any traffic tickets, he will have to figure out another way to shake us down. What's that term called? "Unintended Consequences"?
