floor shifter install
i was at kragen and saw a mr gasket floor shifter which was pretty nice seemed to be good quality and it was only 50.00 for the whole kit what are the problems with putting a floor shifter in a 2wd truck with a c-6 should it go in the middle of the transmission tunnel or to one side.

I looked into one of those also but I read the back and the C4 and C6 were not listed, it was for the old Cruise o matics. I was goin to use one in my 68 Torino. It sucked because it would of looked good in my 77 F150, I liked the fact it didnt have the big console with it. If it is for a C6 I would put it where ever it is comfortable for you, but the left side would be more practical I would think, makes more room if somebody has to ride in the middle.

I had a B&M Megashifter in a past truck. It was great. Ran by a cable, so just a small hole in the floor for cable, and it could be postioned anywhere you want. It could be adapted to any trans, just needed the correct mounting brackets. The Megashifter could be either racheting or regular, plus had lights for night to see gear selector, and neutral safety switch and reverse switches built into the shifter.

Floor shifter
I have to agree with many other users. I have a B&M floor shifter in my truck and it is awesome. I broke the column shift years ago when it was -30 and the linkage broke. I decided the cable mechanism on the B& M was superior to a column shift design. I have been impressed. I mounted it on the drivers side of the transmission hump in the cab. That seemed to be the most confortable place to shift from.
Hope this helps.
