No mods required as long as you get an auto trans version to replace an auto trans and a manual version to replace a manual. Only difference I found when I swapped mine was the wrap around plastic molding where the column fits against the dash. Might want to grab that while at the junker.
1. remove the bolt under the hood where the column attaches to the steering sector and disconnect the shift linkage rod from the column.
2. remove the plastic collar from around the steering column where it attaches to the dash (2 screws) This is the collar you need from the junk yard.
3. Remove the 2 bolts that attaches the column to the dash.
4. let the column drop down and remove the wiring from the ignition switch and turn signal
5. remove the screws that attach the base of the column to the firewall and remove the column.
