Nitto Mud Grapplers vs Toyo Open Country MT: good in rain?

I'm trying to decide between the Nitto Mud Grappler or the Toyo Open Country MT in size 35x12.50R18E. Does anybody know how the Nitto Mud Grapplers do on wet pavement? It looks like it would be decent in mud and snow but since I also travel alot on the road, I need a tire that is decent on the highway. Don't suggest AT's. I had them on until now and I had no mud traction. I could have had better traction with a drag slick.

I have heard good things about the Toyo's, heard they balance really well and are not that noisy, kinda unheard of for a mud tire, I am guessing the Nitto's are pretty noisy, the Toyo's are just like the BFG mud terrian's which have always done ok in rain and such, I am guessing the Nitto's wear out fast just like the Nitto Terra Graplers A\T's. I think my next tires are going to be the Toyo MT's 35-12.50-17's a pretty good looking tire, liking my Terra Graplers, they just load up like crazy in the mud and deep snow, should have stayed with the mud tires like I have always done, most of my driving is on the street, but it sucks when you get in the mud and don't have the tires to get you out, I just wish mud tires had the traction tha the all terrians had in the snow\ice, hopefully with the Toyo's sipped like my Nitto's I will get the traction that I am now, wishful thinking, guess yu can't have it all....

Wifes SUV has the Open Country tires and so did my 1/2 ton. I think they work great and have lasted about 2 years so far and are only 1/2 used up at this point. I would buy them again.

I just put a set of Toyo 35x12.50x18 M/Ts on my 05 F-250. They are the best tire I have ever had on any of my trucks, no question. I won't even bother with anything else in the future. I'm more than happy. Ride is great and they sound like a passanger car tire, you can't go wrong, only if you buy something else.

I have the Toyo MT 35"x12.50"x20" and love them. They look great and ride pretty good for that size tire. I'm running a 4" lift on a 2005 F-350 Lariat 6.0 CC.

ive had both. toyos are a good all around tire for a little of everything. the mud grapplers suck in snow, as as far as the rain it depends on were you live. in new mexico when it rains the roads are very bad. usually had to but it in four high to go anywere because i cant keep the rear end under control. i now have the toyo open country a/t's on mine and love them. plus there an e-rated tire for towing.
