Door Handle help
I recently got door handles that match my paint for my 97 F-150, but I can't get to the 2nd bolt on the handle. Can anyone tell me how to get there? I read in another thread that I have to remove the window guide to get to it. I really hope that isn't right.

Sorry, but what you hear was right. It's the only way to get your hands in there. It's not as bad as it sounds. Just make sure the window is all the way up.

Remove the exterior front door handle.

- Raise the front door window to the closed position.
- Disconnect the battery ground cable. For additional information, refer to Section 414-01 [/url].
- Remove the front door trim panel. For additional information, refer to Section 501-05 [/url].
- Remove the bolts and the front door brace.
- Position the watershield aside.
- Remove the bolt and position the door glass top run aside.

[/IMG] Remove the exterior front door handle.
- Remove the nuts.
- If equipped disconnect the actuating rod from the lock cylinder.
- Release the clip and remove the exterior front door handle rod.
- Remove the exterior front door handle by pushing outward from the bottom.
- If equipped disconnect the electrical connector(s).
- NOTE: Make sure the door handle release rod is not preloading the latch. It should be clipped in a relaxed state with no slack.
To install, reverse the removal procedure.
