I have a '90, F-150, 72,000 miles. I'm the second owner, got all the records when I bought it. Been a great truck, but need some advice.
This summer, when I first left the house in the morning, noticed that the brakes did not immediately release at the first stop sign. No problem after the first stop. We have now just had a couple very cold days, and the brake pedal would not return all the way after stops, I could reach down with my toe and pull the pedal up, until I had driven for a few miles, and then everything was OK. What gives?
Could be a sticky master cylinder or rear shoes sticking. Check the rear shoes, make sure they are clean, dry and don't seem to be dragging. Flush the brake fluid until new fluid comes out each bleeder. If that doesn't help, change the master cylinder. It's possible the booster is giving you trouble, but more likely the master than the booster.
