Restoring F-150

I just purchased a '93 F-150 w/ I-6. It has 65,000 original miles. It came with a brand new 7.6' Meyers Poly Snow plow. First thought, since I only paid 3000.00 for this thing, was to sell and make a profit. Since my oldest son is 15, the wife and I have decided it would be his first vehicle and instead of getting into another major restoration, do some mods to this.
I have never owned an F-150 or 6 cylinder for that matter. So my question is to the guy's who have done it all to one of these. I would definately like to get a little more out of the motor. I'd also like to get it off the ground a little bit more for some bigger tires. What has worked best.

While this will be his main form of transportation, I would still like him to be able to 4x4 and have some fun when he wants to.

In hopes of getting some replies from guy's with the same truck I posted here. If I should have broke it down a little more for differant forums, I'm sorry and will repost seperately if I get bumped. I just wanted input about the whole F-150, I-6 motor, and suspension package.

Thanks in advance for any help or ideas. Now if I can hold this out in front of him to finish up that BSA Eagle Project, It'll all be worth it!

The I6 is not a fast motor, but it is a torque monster. The only way to get any real performance is to do some head work and put in a new cam. Lift is basically up to whatever company you like the best.

my buddies got 33's on his 94 f-150 with no lift and it sit's up fine and we still take er muddin. Also the I-6 has just about the same power as the 302's do so i would try to muscle a lot outta the engine she's only got 65.000 on her she should have some kick. Maybe a performance air filter and exhuast would help out. I wouldn't do body lift, I would go with a two or 3 inch suspension lift...it all depends what you want to roll it through. The I-6 is a very dependable motor you shouldn't mind it too much.
