Hey rocketscience I tried the wait on the fuel pump method today here in PA.The temp. was 18 and my 01 f350 sat out in it from 7 am untill 7 pm. This would be a sure romp romp romp if I started it when the wait to start light goes out. Guess what NO ROMP. I think it works, I'll try it again tomorrow the high is supposed to be 14.
wrench56, Alright! Thanks for check'n this. I believe this is a more common problem than we all think. I also believe it's shrugged-off by most owners in the milder climates as just an occasional winter time annoyance. This 'Romp, Romp, Romp' can't be healthy for our rigs though, so it's nice that it appears we may have found an easy fix.
Oh, and wrench', sorry about your team....
arno,
Let us know what you find out too, and anybody else out there who might be experiencing this phenomenon.

I thought all PSD from 99-03 came factory with block heater? it a trick to find... behind the drivers front tow hook. I looked 3 times before I finally found it, its was wrapped in that black wiring harness flex crap, so at first I thought it was just that (wiring harness) running under and going to headlights or something. but lo' and behold, it had a little pluggy thing on the end...
Oh yeah I heard the steelers lost. I flipped over to the Speed Channel after about 2 minutes. I don't care much for stick & ball sports. I build 410 sprint cars so if it doesn't have a big right rear and a wing I lose interest pretty quick. I'm new to these deisels but thanks to this sight I'm learning some things pretty fast.

I think you just described my ex-girlfriend from high school.
ANYWAY, back to my Plug. I really gotta wonder how many of us/you guys out there don't know they got a block heater? As Technitom said, that plug was hidden pretty darn good. I said earlier in this thread that block heaters weren't a standard option here in Seattle. This was based on what I was told by my 'know-it-all' salesman back when I bought the truck. Hmmm. I better start think'n about what else he told me.
