Flex Plate Question

Im putting together a 86 302(the 302 had an AOD behind it) and a 1978 NP435 with a Clutch assembly from a 78 1/2. I need a flex plate that will work with this setup and I seem to only be able to find the ring gear. I've been told that one from an F150 from 1973-79 will work. Does anyone know of any other year that will work. Or where I can order something that will work.

Flex Plate Question

You had better get a flywheel from a later model for balance reasons for the 86 motor.

Flex Plate Question

you need a flywheel not a flex plate. flex plate is for an automatic, flywheel is for a standard. you will need one with the 50 counterweight. i beleive it is used on 85 and up 302. i think 351 windsor is also the same 85 and up.
