oil changes?

how often should i change the oil in my 6 litre? i hear anywhere from 3 to 5 ,000 miles.

check the diesel suppliment in your truck. severe is 5000, normal is 7000. my dealership reccommends 5000. oil changes here in Michigan is about $75.00

I change mine at 7000 miles. But when I am towing alot I change it closer to 5000 miles.

I change mine closer to 3000. Change it myself. Have been buying filters from Walmart, but looks like they have been pulled from the shelves for some reason. Mostly tow with mine. I am also contemplating the oil gaurd bypass filter (I think it is oilgaurd.com). Did a search here on the forum - looks like a pretty good idea.
