92 F150 Fuel Pump Problems

My fuel pumps on my 92 F150 went out. I dont believe they both could have quit at the samt time like that. Is there anything else that I can check to see why they quit working?

thanks, J

Your right I don't think they could have both quit at the same time. the first thing I would look at is the fuel cut off switch. It is suppose to be somewhere under the dash. It is suppose to cut off the fuel in case of an accident and some guys cut it off when they are changing the fuel filter. I don't know exactly where it is (I don't trip it when I change my filter) but you could run a search of this forum and I know there are posts on here about it. It has an official name I can't think of now but it is the fuel cutoff switch. It could be a short or a bad ground but I don't see how it would knock out both of them. Good luck.

Usually in the 92 it should be under the pass. side kick panel. I believe they call it the inertia switch. Did you check the relay?
