Self adjusting brakes.
I just read the article on front disc brakes and plan on making the swap. To update the rear I would like to change them to self adjusting. It seems to me it would be a simple matter of changing to later model backing plates from a truck that had self adjusters to begin with. Anyone know what years will fit? Thanks.

If it's an F-100, you can just add the self adjusting cables and guides to your shoes. You can get a brake hardware kit from NAPA that has the cables, guides, bottom lever and star wheel. You need right and left kits I believe. I have a 50 F-1 with 11 inch brakes and have added it, no problem. If it's a larger truck, you might have to look at something from 68 and newer.
