Idler air bypass

I have a '99 f-150 4.2L. I was wondering where the idler air bypass was located and how hard it is to replace it. I think mine is sticking or I have a vacuum leak.

Usually they do not need to be replaced. You can clean them with carburetor cleaner. Make sure that the cleaner you choose is safe for O2 sensors. Just spray it down and exercise it, then spray it again.

I don't know exactly where it is on your particular engine, but it will be in the throttle body assembly somewhere.

It's on the top of tht intake manifold and very easy to replace.
