I have run into a problem occasionally with my 1986 Ford F-250/460 engine. The 15amp fuse that controls the fuel pump solenoid, carburator controls, tachometer, and EEC, will blow without warning or cause. This may continue for several months and then it stopped for almost a year. It has started again, any suggestions. It is driving me crazy.
[updated:LAST EDITED ON 11-Sep-02 AT 12:10 PM (EST)]Remember, fuses do not blow for no reason. There is definately a reason.
Make sure that the fuse is of high quality, and the right amperage for the application. Then you need to check each component for excessive draw. Check all connections and the wiring for shorts.
Just know that there is definatley a reason a fuse blows, and if it blows regularly, find out why.
