I think my compressor or relay on my LLS quit a couple of days ago. The compressor ran when I started it and a few miles later I noted the Chk Susp light on. When I got home I recycled the switch and have never seen the light again BUT also have not heard the compressor. Good bags I guess as the rear is still up.
The question, the CD says the light is on when the switch is on. Does it also come on when the pressure is low? The compressor ran almost every time I started the truck before so I am pretty sure I have a problem to troubleshoot tonight but having the light come on once then never returning is confusing.
Anybody a light expert? I should read the users manual instead of the maintenence manual. It might tell more there but I am old and slow...
OK, jump relay, compressor runs. Relay has 7 volt signal and a good ground with the suspention switch on and nothing with it off on the gate. Sounds like a bad relay to me. It reads solid state readings with a good meter on my kitchen table but must be bad, I hope. I hear Ford gets $100 plus for a new one and the only good junk yard around here thinks their parts are gold but I'll check them out tomorrow.
If the one you have now is bad you would be better off just biting the bullet and getting a new one from Ford rather than a used one. Perhaps the replacement parts from ford are better quality than the crap they built that system with at the factory. Junk yards are great for body parts, or things like power steering pumps ect, but I'd stay away from things like electrical relays that have been in cars on the yard when you don't know where they came from or how they got there.

Actually, I agree... Just ordered one from Ford. $104 but it will have a nice shine. Pretty high for a high drain FET but, what can you do?? At least it is easy work.
