F100 lights

F100 lights
My 1981 F100 is having lighting problems. They main headlights are cutting out intermittently. I have checked the dipswitch and the main switch behind the dash and can't seem to find anything wrong with them. Can anyone help who may have experienced this problem before.

Common problem !
Headlight switch is going bad.
Ford never got this one right.
They put the circuit breaker in the switch and ran power directly to the headlights.
You have two options:
1)Install a new switch
2)Wire up your lights with relay's instead.
There is a tech article in the tech section called " Whiter White's & Brighter Bright's".
I recommend #2 > You won't be disappointed as your lighting efficency goes up and the demand on the switch goes down.
