Help Quick!!!!!
Just got a 99 Explorer for a sweet $4000.00 with only 79000 on it.
But (there's always one huh?) When I am going down the road it humms sweet but when I hit the gas to pass or go up hill (Ozark mtns) I get a shimmy to clunk feel when the passing gear evens out. Sometimes but not to often when I get on the gas semi hard at the start it will do this. There are only 4-6 clunks then it goes away.
Of course my wonderful dealer is yelling "Rebuild the rear" really loud, but I was wondering if maybe u-joints are the culprit.
We are to leave Fri pm for a 2400 mile round trip and this is our vehicle of choice.
Please I need input from one and all.
