i found out those can Leak LOL seatbelt had been getting a little damp in the truck deduced that the High brake lite water was getting down into it
It has a rubber gasket that gets dry-rotted over time, unfortunately.
I replaced this gasket early summer, after shoving in high brightness LED's to use it as a 3rd brake light as well. Took my ford dealer 3 weeks to get it too
Pretty soon I'll be adding 4' long flourescent tubes under both sides of the bedrails, so the bed is really well lit up and the lights aren't in anyone's faces. Almost done the circuitry, then its time to figure out the mounting.
will have to check on that if i keep the truck. not getting rid of it because of that just lookin to trade to something that can seat more than 3 people
Thats why I have a 2wd F350 crewcab. Often I need seating for more than two, and the ability to haul 12Klbs, or carry home engines, bricks, whatever. Can do both at the same time, actually.
2wd has a slightly better ride than the 4wd, because the front suspension is not a solid axle, but IFS. Also, the longer wheelbase of the crewcab (longbed) gives it a better ride because it bounces less front to back.
But its still quite stiff, all things considered. A town car it isn't
to true it isn't a town car its a low mileage truck 61K to date I6 E4OD 3.55 gears i have put in new wheel cylinders in the back new rotors in the front new lower radiator hose new TPS sensor new TB gasket Plugs wires rotor cap new Torque convertor and front pump truck has a rebuilt title paint is good with few minor scratches seat and carpet have no tears or stains has a bedliner and a step bumper. With the rebuilt title kinda stumped on what kinda trade in offer to expect
Cool Idea with the flourescent tubes. I bet that'd be a nice look at night. Are these going to be wired so they light up when doors are open or are you gonna have a switch for them yourself?
Fredrick,
Make sure to use the protective sleeves you can get for flourescents to use in lab areas. You can get an inverter at Wal-Mart near where they sell the batteries. I have the inverter mounted inside my truck box to power a drill. saw, compressor, etc. Also mounted a power point on each side of the box, rear to plug in my spotlight or emergency 12v compressor. From what I've read you actually use your truck to haul things and the sleeves will save you glass shards etc. just in case. Terrific idea.
