do the 351W and the 302 have the same intake manifold?
the reason i ask is because i have been thinking about converting my 85 f-250 to efi, it has a 351w and has a 4spd in it. if the intakes are not the same than what year and vehicle would i have to look for to get everything i need to do the swap? thanks for all info you can possibly get to me, as i yet do not know everything as i am in a 2-year colledge taking up engine machining, so i know most of this part but not the electronic stuff. thanks again!!!
I am pretty sure it doesn't it. They are almost always listed as seperate part numbers. And I am pretty sure the tall deck height of the windsor and i also think it is wider than the 302. Even though the heads can be interchanged with minor mod.
Hello, no but the 302 uses a different intake than the 351w. The way I tell them apart is: at the rear of the intake between the surfaces that mate to the heads there is a curve. The curve is very close to the head surface on a 302, and an 1 1/2" or so away from the head mating surface on the 351w. I know, it sounds dumb, but go to a speed shop & look at some intakes for a 302 & for a 351 & you will see what I mean. The 351w is noticably wider. Good luck.
