I did this in a 77 f150. The kits for what ever reasons don't come with the wiring and switches they are 40-80 dollars more. I found an 80 Bronco and used its wiring and switches got them for like 10 bucks.
The only way I have ever seen the regulators is in the custom kits.
I used the parts from a '86 F150 - wiring harness, switches, motors. It requires some cutting/welding to mount the motors onto my '73 regulators. From there it was a matter of running the harness, plugging it in and running one power wire. And the best part is if I need parts, I can get them from any parts store - no need to try and track down some aftermarket company...
I don't have power locks - but the '86 wiring harness has the lock wiring included. So I will just mount solinoids, switches and run a power wire.
Has anybody tried using the power window motors out of a mid 80's van??? Reading this got me thinkin that since there is a few bits n pieces that swap, the window motors might too!! i'll have to check this out
