Guys, I have an stock 81' f150 302 2v and wanted to put the 4v edelbrock egr performer manifold and carb (600 cfm)? on it. Does anybody have any advice on this set-up?
well even tho im still new around here ill tell ya what i went with. i have a 84 f-150 302. I went with the edlebrock performer intake and the holly truck street avenger carb (670 cfm) I think its a great set up. just my .02
Thanks, for the advice and .02. I'm new to. Did you get the egr manifold? I have an 81 f150 with the 2v carb. I'm in Texas and supposedly the emission equipment has to be on the car when it was made. They look under the hood. It doesn't have to work though, it just has to be there. Makes sense huh.
Check the Edelbrock website, and see what SMOG info they have on their different manifolds. All of the ones in their online catalog that are legal have a note stating *Emissions Legal or words to that effect.
Me personally - I have no such problem on my 82 F-100, since it's registered out of a county that doesn't inspect. But I will be in California for a while, and I have to figure that sooner or later the SMOG ****'s will show up even in a civilized state like Tennessee...
Therefore I'm already thinking up ways around it. So far, I have 2 A.I.R. Pumps in my collection. I'm thinking of turning one of them into a hollow shell that serves only as an idler pulley! *wink*
