A wierd thing happened to me this morning. I started my truck and let it warm up for a couple minutes this morning while I was working outside (about 18F)When I got back in, the heater controls were off. i tried turning it back on and there was no power at all to the controls. I tried restarting the truck but it still didn't work. I had to get to work, so I just drove with-out any heat. When I got to work, I started looking thru my manual for the fuse location (thinking a fuse was blown). I restarted the truck to move into a different parking spot and the heater controls lit back up and everything seemed to work great. I cant figure out what would have caused this? Anyone have a problem like this?
I believe the controls are pnuematically controlled- You could have a loose fitting. If so, this is a very easy fix. Good luck and please post the results
This may not change anything. But my truck is the Harley Davidson addition and the controls are all digital (all pushbutton controls). I don't know if all F250 have the same controls or not.
I'd still guess that the problem is a loose pnuematic fitting. Symptom: Works fine, then won't work at all, then works fine... If possible, bring it to the dealer while it is failing-
Mine went out at -30 deg and I took it in and showed the svc mgr. He tested all of the connections and all was fine, power to everything but the head was still dead. Left it there to be worked on, came back the next day and was told nothing was wrong (even though the mgr saw it) and that they could not duplicate the issue. Since then I have talked with a couple of others who are having the same issue and no one can figure it out so far. All I know is from time to time while I am driving I notice a flash on the dash in my peripheral vision (thought I was going crazy for a while) that turned out to be the temp center going off and on.
