I expect that as for other brands, there is a programmer available, or preferrably software that I can use in my laptop with my OBDII cable, that I can use to make firmware changes.
My immediate need is to change the setting for tire size. I know that they can do this on a Dodge, so I will be surprised if it can't be done for the Ford. I expect Hypertech and the likes have programmers for chipping it, but I would rather use software that I could also use for more complete diagnostics of the Ford products of this era. I have software for all the generic codes, but I need something as I've described.
i would recomend the diablo predator. you might want to get into the chips and tuners forum and talk to ken there and he can help you out alot. for more info on the predator check www.motorhaven.com or www.diablosport.com
I agree, I just got a Predator and I am very pleased with it. It will allow tire size/ gear change adjustments as well as shift firmness and ofcourse power upgrades. The Predator will scan codes on any OBDII Ford as well as log and display real live data. It can be attatched to a PC or laptop for diagnostics as well as downlaodable updates from the DiabloSport website. I dont think that Hypertech does this.
