Good questions. I'm a quad (broke C4,5,6) I currently have a full size ford van setup with a Joystick to control the gas, brake, and steering along with switches to control secondary functions (ie. start, shifter, lights, wipers, etc). I drive from my electric wheelchair, can't transfer myself.
here is one photo of a man I know that had a 37 Ford sedan streetrod built to be so he could drive it. Greg is confined to a wheelchair after a trampoline accident but that didn't stop his love for cars. A friend of mine built the car for him because they said it couldn't be done. He used the drivetrain from a Taurus and installed them in the back. It is rear engine-rear wheel drive. He could then drop the floor to accomodate the wheelchair. A fold-down ramp, in the passenger door, allows access. Greg has taken his "Art Rod" to schools to help motivate kids to dream. This only shows a photo of the Art Rod in the background. http://www.artrodfoundation.com/reviews.htm
Years ago, when vans were all the rage, circa 1983, I met a man who made his Dodge van FWD with Toronado goodies. He the dropped the floor to where the steps inside the door were. This guy was an absolute genius. He even designed the chair lift that was in his side door.
Badgerland F100's had an honorary member in Lousiana that was building a 56 panel as he was wheelchair bound. I only remember his first name was Bernard. Wish I knew what became of him and his panel.
