I was wondering if anyone knows what the problem with my program mode might be. I'm trying to program Keyless remotes that go with the truck and were never programmed before. I do everything that im told to do by the dealer and i took the truck to the dealer to get them to program the key fobs. They told me there that they can not get the truck to enter the programming mode. Hooking up the computer to my truck cost 55 bucks and i didnt want to go that rout. If anyone can help me figure out the problem or knows the problem please let me know.
Thanks
Jason
This may be a dumb question, but are you sure the truck actually has the keyless entry module? What year is the truck? My 2002 has it under the driver's side dash, its a small rectangular box and it's stamped "keyless/alarm module" (or something similar). I think there are also a couple different kinds of key fobs, you may have the wrong type. Then again, if you took it to the dealer, they should have ruled these things out.
Im not Positive that the truck has the remote entry . MY truck is a 99 f150 xlt sport. I wanna know the location of the module so i can see for myself if the truck has or doesnt have the keyless function. This is my first ford truck since my 78 bronco and ALOT have changed since then..lol.. The dealer really didnt say that it did but he said it SHOULD have since it has power door locks, but thats not allways the case im sure. They wanted to hook up a computer to see why it wont even go into program mode.
If it does have the keyless option, the procedure is in the manual or let us know and someone will post the process. Check to make sure you have the option first, If you want more keys on some 99+ models you have to have 2 masters to program more, don't make a difference on remotes you just have to have the correct model or FCC #.
