Ford tornado damage
I have...or had...depending on how you look at it, a 1985 Ford F-150 4x4 Flareside (the bed with the steps on the side of it). A tornado came through and picked up the truck and trailer attached to it (18ft utility trailer with mowers and gas cans) and tossed them 65 feet. The nearest we can figure is it lifted them approximately 20 ft before tossing them both onto soft ground. The trailer was embedded into the rear fender/tire of the truck. Damage consisted of what appears to be a bent rear axle and front axle, left rear fender (fiberglass)obvious bent frame, rear bumper at a 20 degree angle (give or take a few). That's just for starters. My question:
In anyone's opinion is the truck worth repairing or should I get another one? I'm seeing high dollars and lengthy down time to get it repaired properly...if the frame can be straightened. Am I correct or way off base here?

From your description it appears you might be better off getting a replacement truck. You may want to keep some of the damaged truck for parts (engine, tranny, interior, etc) in case you find one that may need something from the '85 in the future. Sorry about your loss, hope everyone was O.K.!

I was on duty (firefighter) and responded to the tornado. Some minor injuries, nothing life threatening. The area sustained alot of damage and I realize that my truck is somewhat trivial compared to the damaged sustained elsewhere. However, this truck was my "bread-n-butter" for my off duty work.
