Thumbs up Get together for us...

I know we are all from all over the place here, but who is up for a get together in Baytown in Houston at the track on a weekend? We did this a while back and a few ppl went. I met Jimmy Dean (Alfred), Black4.2 (Beau), and a few guys from a different site came. Their names are Talley, MTHoward, Sprman, and 1LOWSCREW. There might have been 1 or 2 others, but we met at Baytown and hit the dragstrip on a Saturday night. It was awesome...cold, but awesome.

I was thinking maybe sometime in the early summer when it's nice and warm, plus that will give us plenty of time to plan for it.

I'm all for going if (and only if) there are others who would seriously go and not back out at the last minute. Any takers on this one?

By the way, it's extremely easy to find too. Jimmy and I convoyed up there, so maybe we could convoy from Lufkin? Lufkin is about 2 hours from Baytown in average driving conditions.

If anyone is serious about wanting to go, please post it here, and then if you have other suggestions please post those too.

Joe, how far are you from Amarillo? I could look it up on a map, but your from Texas and might know off hand. I'll be visiting Amarillo...I think it is in May. I'll have to check with my travel agent..er...wife. I think we are flying anyway. Besides, one track run might finish my truck off. That would be cool to do. I've never had anything on a track. Must be a blast. Plenty of 100+ MPH runs on the interstate, but never on a track..and never in my truck. All stock. Boring huh?

Ironically, I may be in houston next week. We have a big job scheduled there next week that will require 2 guys. They may send one from the southern office, and one from the Chicago office. If I draw the short straw, and have to go , I'll post it up. If so, I'll actually be West of Houston, just follow the beltway from Bush int'l, West, and south to I-10, and go about 20 miles. Katy is the name of the town.

Nope, it was a different 4.2 name that used to come on here and for some reason I thought it was you...your name isn't Beau is it?

Joe,

I'll ride all the way out there but not in the truck. It's just too big for long distance riding. I will take the bike though. That would be a nice ride. Can I race the bike there? Or maybe I can just hang out and watch you guys beat your trucks

Yea, you can race anything there. They actually have guys with groups come in with motorcycles and race down the track a lot.
