woh...thanks for the info.

I'm gonna call Ford today to see if they will replace them. They are getting really bad.

[QUOTE=Smokey0210]I have though that of switching it but I run straight 3" exhaust from the cats back (no muffler) so that would be really loud. Without the muffler it sounds great but I do have neighbors to think about.
QUOTE]

No, its not that loud man. It's only a V6, but say if it was a 4.6L it would be alot louder when just taking the muffler off. I have a relative that drives a 1997 4.6L v8 f150 and he just had the muffler cut off and duals out the back and it is alot louder than mine. And with my set up it should be louder, but it's not because it's a v6, I had one pipe ran out the side before the rear tire after I cut my muffler off.

I'm taking my truck into Ford on Monday to get the cat's replaced under the exhaust warrantee. I know it's not high flow cats, but anything beats that darned rattling noise!

Also, they quoted me how much the cats were...$1,000.00!!! Thank God for warrantee's.

I noticed True4.2, you have a 4x4, the dealership told me that they stopped production of the 4.2 with 4x4 when I got my truck. I wished I had known, I like my 4x2 but in Michigan it is nice to have some extra help once and a while. What is your gas mileage like with the 4x4 system?

I have a 4.2 4x4, soon getting rid of it. I get about 14 mpg. But that was before I put my mac intake in...I'll be sure to redo it again soon when im out on the highway.

Yep, I'm the one with the rare 4x4 4.2L Auto.

Most of the guys drive 4x2 4.2L Manual around here...
