33's may need stouter front springs depending on the ride height of your truck I've gotten by with no lift on a 85 short box 150 remember if you lift it even a little you will have to drop the center pivot or you will get the \ / look to your tires and wear them out

You might try doing a searxh on lift kits, as there's alot of info on this. If you plan to go offroad and don't want any fender damage, I would go with a 4" suspension lift. Any of the brands like Rancho, Skyjaxker, Superlift, etc. make wuality kits for a weekend trail rig. Cost will be around $500 for the basic kit. As for the install, a shop will charge about $425, and it is worth it on an older rig like yours. Not only are the bolts probably rusted, but they have Loctite from the factory that makes them a bear to remove. It took a local shop 3 days just to tackle my front end, as even an air wrench wouldn't budge some of the bolts. Heat, a long cheater bar and brute force are needed. You can do it yourself if you have the proper air tools, jacks and a weekend to spare, but I wouldn't advise it if it's your first time.

Another bit of advise, avoid lift blocks if at all possible. I had a 90 fullsize Blazer and it had a 4" lift on it with lift blocks. I had so much axle wrap when I would go off road that it sounded like an angry dwarf under my truck whacking the floorboards with a baseball bat! If you can get a lift kit with rear springs, get them. It might cost a little more, but it's the best way to go IMO.

if you want a cheap easy way to fit them, cuz i know 31' swill fit stock with little or no rubbing, just go with a 3 inch body lift

big hoss...how ya likin this sub-zero weather we been havin? it's playin hell on my truck...84 f-150 4x4 300-6, 4 spd...i've heard about what you were sayin about lift blocks...i don't think i'll go that route...we'll see tho...also heard of'em rolling out from under the leaf springs, too....not a good thing...

also, how do i drop the center pivot point on my front end???

go to www.jcwhitney.com, they make those drop brackets for the center pivot point.

The lift kit should come with axle pivot drop brackets. As for blocks vs. new springs, I spent a bit extra and got new lifted springs. I have had trouble with blocks in the past, including the dreaded "axlewrap". And I will not put a body lift on any rig I own.

big hoss...how ya likin this sub-zero weather we been havin? it's playin hell on my truck...84 f-150 4x4 300-6, 4 spd...

It's been a little rough on my truck. The black insert on the drivers side moulding fell off yesterday because the double sided tape froze. It was -20* here Friday night. My friend's 72 Ventura II won't start if it's below 0. But hoss, 86 F-250HD 4x4, 460, t-19, starts up every morning, after I let my friend start it up, (I'm not going out there to start it, it's cold!).

big hoss....do u got msn or yahoo messenger?? i'll send ya an e-mail with mine so ya can add me...i like gittin to know new people in diff. areas...

i looked down in my radiator yesterday afternoon and got a pretty good scare...i'd forgotten how much straight water i'd dumped in over the summer, and diluted the antifreeze down to almost nothin, then took my time (didn't get it soon enough) to put more anti-freeze in...so i put a heat lamp on the radiator yesterday....hopefully she'll thaw out without any hose ruptures or block/heater/radiator splits...i have faith that i won't have any problems, but wish me luck, just the same...
