its pretty easy. which gasket are you changing upper or lower gasket? get a haynes manual from your local autoparts store and follow the instructions.
a garage would probably charge an arm and a leg for it like they do everything else.
Upper intake gasket is a snap...you could probably have it off and back on in 45 minutes with the proper tools. You probably want to soak the EGR tube fitting in PB blaster prior to doing the work just to help things along if the fitting seized up from the carbon.
The lower manifold isn't that difficult either, but you do have to remove the fuel rail and injectors, which will require a fuel line disconnect tool (~$8 at a local parts store) and some of the bolts can be fun to get to. Just have a few extensions and a u-joint and you'll be fine. There's no coolant running through the lower manifold like there was on older 2.3L EFI cars and trucks because of the dual-plug system, so you won't have to drain the coolant. Expect about an extra 30 minutes to get the lower out with the proper tools and some previous experience in working in tight quarters.
Ah...before I forget...make sure to label the wires going to the fuel injectors. Although they fire in pairs, you don't want to get the #2 & #3 injectors crossed with each other because they fire in different pairs.
