92 Pollution Controlled?
92 Pollution Controlled?
earlier i was looking at the ford racing performance parts crate engines and noticed that some of the engines had *'s beside them and at the bottom it says "*Not legal for sale or use on pollution-controlled motor vehicles." What im wondering is, is the 92 f-150 considered "pollution-controlled"?
Most trucks have had some form of pollution controls for over 30 yrs. The note means that is illegal to put them in a recent street vehicle, but legal in an older vehicle or a track only vehicle. Unless you have emmissions testing, nobody's likely to bust you on it.
The ZF 5 spd...preferably the ZF-S47 but it's rare, I've only seen one (drivetrain.com), not sure what year vehicles they were on but it's rated at 470ft-lbs of torque. The other more common ZF is the ZF-S420 which is rated at 420ft-lbs.
You'll see that disclaimer everywhere....it's just a legal thing....you can still put one in a car and as long as it's setup right and passes emissions, it's fine.
