Running rough, any ideas
I replaced the gasket between my carb (motorcraft carb) and EGR plate, and the EGR plate and the manifold, and the EGR vavle and EGR plate. Now their appears to still be an air leak or something going on. This is the same truck that had less than a 1/4 tank of old gas in it, so I filled it with super unleaded and put some cleaner in. Then it started running bad and popping like an air leak. I replaced those gaskets and it still sounds like it has a tiny air leak somewhere. I have sprayed all around the carb base and intake with carb cleaner and the engine doesnt hesitate, so I dont know where the leak is at. Any ideas on what might be causing the truck to run rough. I changed the fuel filter too, and cleaned out the carb. (didnt put a kit in). The truck is timed right (10 degrees before TDC). Also, I know there is an air leak somewhere cause I can run the air-mixture screw at the base of the carb all the way in and it doesnt affect the truck. I am STUMPED. Once again if I had an airleak when I spray with carb cleaner, that should be sucked into the leak and cause the engine to hesitate. HELP

If I let a vehicle set more than 12 months, I always have to rebuild the carb. The fuel really makes a mess inside, and all the diaphrams dry out and rot. I don't know if a carb on a 6 cylinder has a power valve like the carb on a v8, but if it does, I bet this has rotted and is leaking fuel into the engine. Put a kit in the carb.
