2000 F-150 engine miss problem
My 00 f150 has been missing intermittently for a couple months now and ive tried all i know to do to resolve it...it started by "shaking" only at 45 mph regardless of what gear it was in (4.6L 5speed manual). It would only go away if you accelerated to a higher speed, slowed down, or took it out of gear and coasted. A few weeks later it missed all the time for about a day then quit intermittently, and finally it did it so badly the CK engine light came on and would flash when trying to accelerate. I took it to a garage and they replaced the #8 coil and spark plug and reset the computer. it ran fine for about a day and is now doing it again, but all the time. If you are very very easy on the gas it is not so bad, but when you accelerate it is horrible. Ive now changed all the coil boots and spark plugs with no improvement. Can anyone help!! Thanks

I am having the same problem. I took mine to the dealer and they replaced the idle valve. I also got the plugs replaced since it had 90k on it. It ran fine for a few weeks and the check engine light came back on. I was told the code was for an EGR valve so I replaced it and it did not fix the problem.

more info about my problem....
The ck engine light has not been on since they replaced the #8 coil pack. I drove the truck last night and it ran fine but htis morning it was back to missing again. Like I said, when its doing this it feels like something is plugged up or something and sputters alot but if you just barely give it gas it smooths out.
