The alarm that tells me my door is open or my lights are on after the key is out of the ignition won't shut off. It stays on no matter what. Tried jiggling the ignition switch already and the buttons in the door jam aren't the problem either. Can somebody tell me where the part is that makes the "ding" sound is so I can remove it and light it on fire? Thanks!

i dont mean to high jack you thread but i was just wondering if the 94 xlt's have this feature because i realized mine doest do anything if i leave the lights on.
as far as your question goes i think it just plugs into the fuse panel i think.... i could also be completly wrong....
Since the first question was answered, the answer to the second question is YES. Previous owner probably disconnected it. If you go in search of it, the module should be right where Dwoodler said. I personally find them annoying as all get out. I figure if I'm dumb enough to leave my lights on, I deserve the consequences. Thank you, I'll take my chances and NOT have to deal with a dilema like mtm1972's.
In my 96 XLT no matter what I do the lights would be switched off keys out of the ignition but still when ever I open my door it will just start dinging its pissing me off its been like that ever since I got her I pulled the fuse once and it stopped it but I think it cut the power off on something else I forgot might have been the mirrors but any one know what todo i just want it to stop but I dont want to pull the box out thanx
